DIA Launches Lasernet Testnet: Pioneering Layer-2 Oracle Technology

TL;DR

  • DIA has launched Lasernet on the Ethereum testnet, marking the debut of the first Layer-2 rollup specifically designed for oracle infrastructure.
  • Developers can now experiment with both pull- and push-based oracles on Ethereum Sepolia, preparing for the mainnet launch of Lasernet in Q1 2025.
  • Lasernet leverages advanced blockchain technologies like Optimism’s OP Stack, Conduit, Hyperlane, and Celestia to enhance trustless, permissionless, and decentralized data transmission.

DIA has launched Lasernet on the Ethereum testnet, marking the debut of the first Layer-2 rollup specifically designed for oracle infrastructure. This groundbreaking initiative seeks to improve trustless, permissionless, and decentralized data transmission within blockchain applications.

Developers now have the opportunity to experiment with both pull- and push-based oracles on Ethereum Sepolia in preparation for the mainnet launch of Lasernet scheduled for the first quarter of 2025.

Leveraging Advanced Technologies

DIA’s new oracle stack, Lumina, embraces modularity and collaboration, leveraging advanced blockchain technologies such as Optimism’s OP Stack, Conduit, Hyperlane, and Celestia.

Optimism’s OP Stack is designed for enterprise-level scalability, facilitating on-chain oracle data processing while ensuring data remains verifiable, immutable, and trustworthy. Fahim Sachedina, the Partnerships Manager at Optimism, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration, noting:

“DIA’s Lasernet rollup, powered by the OP Stack, represents an important advancement in decentralized oracle infrastructure. We’re proud to support DIA in bringing this technology to life with our MIT-licensed, open-source stack”.

Enhancing Operational Efficiency

Conduit enhances DIA’s rollup deployment and management, boosting both operational efficiency and reliability. Andrew Huang, the Founder of Conduit, shared his pride in this collaborative achievement, stating:

“DIA’s Lasernet rollup is a powerful demonstration of how Conduit’s technology can simplify the operation of more complex use cases such as oracles. We’re proud to collaborate with the DIA team on launching the first oracle layer-2 rollup”.

Interoperability and Data Accessibility

Hyperlane’s interoperability framework enables smooth communication between EVM and non-EVM blockchains, enhancing access to oracle data and positioning Lasernet as a versatile, blockchain-agnostic solution. Jon Kol, Co-Founder of Hyperlane, commented:

“DIA’s vision for Lumina, powered by the Lasernet rollup and Hyperlane’s open framework, represents a major leap forward in oracle infrastructure. We’re excited to collaborate with the DIA team bringing oracle data to any chain”.

Future Prospects

DIA is currently preparing to launch its mainnet in 2025, bringing new ways to share data in the Web3 space. The Lumina stack aims to provide open access, guarantee trustless processing with Aggregator smart contracts, and use a network of nodes for gathering data, all supported by crypto-economic rewards.

DIA encourages other developers and researchers to explore Lasernet and contribute to the future of oracle technology, aiming to create a permissionless and open data layer for Web3.
