According to a release on February 7, the ChatGPT Ethereum Name Service (ENS) domain name has been sold for 6 Wrapped Ethereum (WETH) which is about $10,000 on the American online Non-Fungible Token (NFTs) marketplace, OpenSea.

The ChatGPT ENS domain name is owned by Ishimilly, a holder of other blue chip NFTs including Bored Ape Yacht Club (BAYC) NFTs, Otherdeeds, and other priced digital assets. It was previously held by LongDuck, who also holds several other ENS domain names.
ChatGPT is an AI conversational virtual assistant tool developed by OpenAI and has the ability to generate human-like text like articles, essays, jokes, and even poetry depending on the input it is given.
Interestingly, Artificial Intelligence (AI) assets in the crypto market are beginning to enjoy the benefits attached to ChatGPT. This helped fuel the sale of ChatGPT.eth domain name despite a slowing interest in the ENS domain names compared to last year.
Although interest in AI technology is growing, the same cannot be said for domain names in general. A recent survey from analytical firm Dune Analysis reveals that registration for new ENS names has significantly dropped. According to the analytical firm, there are about 2.7 million total active ENS names.
Meanwhile, ChatGPT has now become the topic of discussion because of its versatility and potential in the crypto space. Likewise, a lot of individuals in the crypto industry have shown great interest in AI, especially since the latest version of ChatGPT became popular. As such, they have been cashing in on the ChatGPT mania, a trend that has rubbed off on top AI tokens like SinglularityNET (AGIX).
Big Brands Integrate ChatGPT
Since the emergence of the AI-powered chatbot, several brands have begun to integrate the new technology which has become famous for the kind of responses it generates. For example, Microsoft has shared plans to incorporate an upgraded version of the AI app called GPT 3.5 into its Bing search engine.

With this upgraded version, users can enjoy a new chat experience and generate quality content, amongst other benefits.
The growth in the clamor for ChatGPT is a worthy distraction as the Web3 ecosystem will make concerted effort to heal from the pains of bankrupt firms like FTX and Genesis Global.
