Chiliz Announces 2025 SALT Airdrop Amid Modest CHZ Performance

TL;DR

  • Chiliz announces a new SALT token airdrop for 2025.
  • The previous PEPPER airdrop generated attention but had limited impact.
  • The CHZ cryptocurrency shows modest performance despite Bitcoin’s bull market.

Chiliz (CHZ), a blockchain platform focused on the sports and entertainment sector, has revealed plans to launch a new airdrop in 2025.

Alexandre Dreyfus, CEO of Chiliz, recently announced on X (formerly Twitter) that the upcoming airdrop will distribute a token called SALT to the platform’s users.

This release follows the previous PEPPER airdrop, which initially gained some interest, thanks in part to Binance facilitating its distribution. However, PEPPER only reached a market cap of $12 million, limiting its impact on the Chiliz ecosystem.

Despite Chiliz’s efforts to invigorate its ecosystem through these airdrops and increase value for its users, the performance of its main token, CHZ, has been modest. In a rising crypto market environment, CHZ has only posted a 1.42% increase over the last month and has fallen by 17% over the past year.

These data have raised doubts among investors about the token’s future, especially in comparison to Bitcoin, which recently reached a new all-time high of $89,000. The original source of this information was shared by Alexander Stefanov.

Currently, CHZ maintains a market cap of $636 million and is available on major exchanges, including Binance and Coinbase. However, CHZ’s limited growth during the recent bull market has led investors to question whether Chiliz’s strategy of distributing additional tokens will be enough to drive an increase in CHZ’s value.

Impact of Airdrops on the Chiliz Ecosystem

Chiliz’s strategy of launching airdrops aims to revitalize its ecosystem and boost interest in its platform. The SALT token could present a new opportunity to attract more users, giving them reasons to engage and actively participate. However, considering the limited impact of PEPPER, the effectiveness of this strategy in raising CHZ’s value remains uncertain.

Airdrops are commonly used in the crypto world as a tool for marketing and user retention, but they don’t always achieve long-term results in terms of value for the main token.

The case of CHZ is particularly notable, as its growth has lagged behind other assets in the market, which may indicate that organic demand for CHZ needs to be strengthened beyond merely offering free tokens.

For Chiliz, the challenge lies not only in distributing more tokens but in building a sustainable model that adds value for users and ensures their long-term engagement.

The Chiliz community remains attentive to how both the ecosystem and CHZ’s value will evolve following the SALT launch and whether this new airdrop can provide the necessary boost to improve the token’s valuation.
