The Hong Kong-listed investment bank China Renaissance is planning to raise $600 million to create a U.S.-listed company dedicated to holding Binance’s BNB token. This move represents a significant institutional endorsement for BNB.
A Major Institutional Bet
The planned $600 million fund is being set up in partnership with YZi Labs, the family office of Binance co-founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao. Together, the two firms are serving as cornerstone investors, committing a combined $200 million to anchor the new venture.
This initiative is designed to function similarly to corporate crypto treasuries like MicroStrategy’s for Bitcoin, but with a dedicated focus on BNB. The vehicle will be a publicly listed company in the United States, with the sole purpose of accumulating BNB, signaling a mature and structured approach to institutional crypto investment.
Building on Growing Momentum
This ambitious plan expands on China Renaissance’s existing strategy. In August, the bank had already announced a $100 million direct investment in BNB, making it the first Hong Kong-listed firm to add the token to its balance sheet. The new $600 million fund is part of a broader trend of growing corporate BNB treasuries, following moves by firms like CEA Industries and Nano Labs.
The strong institutional interest has positively impacted the market. Following the news, BNB’s price showed notable resilience and growth, bucking the broader market trend and approaching its all-time high. This surge was also supported by a record high in BNB futures open interest, indicating robust retail and institutional demand.
