Klaytn Foundation and Finschia Foundation have announced a successful merger, paving the way for the creation of Asia’s largest Web3 ecosystem. The merger proposal, which was passed with an overwhelming majority by the governance members of both foundations, aims to integrate the superior blockchain technology, services, crypto ecosystem, and business acumen of both entities.

The proposal received 95% approval from Finschia’s side and 90% from Klaytn’s side. The unified network resulting from this merger will boast approximately 420 DApp services and more than 45 governance member partners. This positions the new entity to popularize Web3 as Asia’s largest blockchain ecosystem.

A joint task force will be established to merge the two chains and set up an integrated foundation in Abu Dhabi by the second quarter of this year. The foundation will adopt a single governance system, with the previous operating teams transferred to the integrated foundation.

The board of the new foundation will be jointly operated by Finschia and Klaytn foundations, with an equal number of directors from each foundation. The new blockchain will be compatible with both Ethereum and Cosmos.
