Amongst the many utilization of digital assets payment, real estate is one of the most recent sectors that has engaged the nascent industry.
Of all the countries where cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC), Ethereum (ETH), and others are accepted in exchange for properties, Spain happens to be leading the list. According to a report by Forex Suggest from a study, Spain has up to 289 available properties listed for purchase in cryptocurrency followed by Thailand and Portugal.
Spain appears to be one of the most popular holiday destinations in all of Europe and most of these crypto properties are found around areas of tourist interest. Neighborhoods around Alicante, Marbella, and the northerly city of Barcelona are the location for most of these properties available to crypto buyers.
Thailand, which is another interesting site for tourist attraction in Asia, has 227 crypto properties according to the study. A significant percentage of these real estate assets are found on the Phuket and Koh Samui islands.
Interestingly, Portugal which is the third country on the list has only 130 crypto properties, less than 50% of the total crypto properties in Spain. The higher concentration of crypto properties is found in the Capital city of Lisbon and the historic city of Porto.
Another fascinating fact is that El Salvador which legalized the use of BTC a while ago has only about 39 crypto properties available, thereby occupying the tenth position on the list. For a country where the use of crypto is not limited by policies or regulations, this was adjudged a relatively poor figure.
Other countries on the list are UAE, Montenegro, Mexico, United Kingdom, United States, Turkey, Greece, Canada, Netherlands, and the Philippines with Italy at the bottom.
